What a truckingly good weekend!

With the biggest beasts in British Motorsports thundering around the Donington Circuit and what seemed like thousands of trucks on display from some of the biggest names in the industry, Convoy in the Park truly is the biggest and best celebration of all things trucking!

Over 100m of cranes were on show at Convoy in the Park
Like last year, Convoy in the Park 2024 saw show trucks, plenty of family entertainment, and most importantly: high-octane racing as the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) and International Truck Prix headlined the action-packed two day racing spectacular.

Over the weekend saw a total of nine trucks races – with the International Truck Prix’s four showcase races adding the additional four races to the usual five in the British Truck Racing Championship. The International Truck Prix saw a welcome return of many of the big British names who have headed across the channel for the 2024 European Truck Racing Championship, including the Reid brothers, Jamie Anderson and John Newall, as well as welcoming Isle of Man TT legend John McGuinness to the track for the weekend. Unfortunately, due to a crash in Germany, fellow Scot Jock Borthwick was unable to make it.

The meanest looking truck at Convoy in the Park
Over the course of the weekend Tom and the mechanic team continues to improve the new Navistar with some close calls to the podium steps. Unfortunately, a slight run in with a fellow driver sent Tom to the back of the pack on Sunday’s racing, while setting issues resulted in break temperature issues forcing Tom to give up a several key positions in the final minutes of another race.

The track wasn’t the only spectacle, though, with hundreds of show trucks filling the venue, alongside live music, stunt shows, kids’ activities, and even truck drifting. Off the track, fans soaked up the sun and the fun. The show trucks dazzled, while the live action included truck drift demos, live music, and kids’ entertainment. The weekend wrapped up with a crowd-favourite – a caravan-smashing spectacle that left the remains scattered across the Live Action Arena.

Nonstop entertainment on and off the track
In the infield, MV Commercial extended its legendary hospitality, with hundreds of friends coming through over the course of the weekend to celebrate and support Tom from our unparalleled view of the track. As always, we had the largest display of crane trucks on display, with some showstopping customer trucks, including stunners from industry leaders such as Bewlake Lift and Haul, HTF Transport Solutions, Gordon Bow and Old Haulage.

The British Truck Racing Championship continues at Snetterton next month with the team returning to the tar on the 14th and 15th September.
